Everyone always say that everyone should have sketchbook. And I agree. I have started numerous sketchbooks, filled few pages and left it at that.
This year was different. For some odd reason this time it was different. I keep sketchbook at work and doodle around when have time and been finishing 1-2 pages in a workday --- every workday. Started with pencil sketches, then started inking with fineline marker, then added red pen to it and finally gave alcohol markers a go.
I use ProMarkers and they are neat. I only have 10 or so colours and it is a bit limiting but then again forces to try creative ways to make it work. I ordered 10 shades of sepia on some random brand. We shall see how well I am able to utilize those.
I would love to get better at drawing likeness on people. Current art course I take is really helping me improve on that but still get frustrated really easy. Many of my sketchbook drawing start from seeing some beautiful or interesting person and trying to draw her/him. At the moment I'm sort of happy with outcome but likeness just isn't there. I know likeness comes pretty much from little things and I too often rush to inking before getting those things in places.
Another favourite subject on sketchbook is movie scenes. I love movies and would like to pay homage for my favourite ones and perhaps learn a thing or two about composition at same time.
I post about 80% of my sketchbook pages to Instagram and eventually upload here in DA to my sketchbook folder. I would love all kinds of feedback.
